Charities
BACCES is pleased to announce we donated £30,500 to the four charities/organisations we selected from our 2024 production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
The Society selected a cross section of beneficiaries from a long list of applicants which are close to BACCES’ heart, and was again humbled to be able to donate £10,000 to each of the three main charities. In addition, we also ran a bucket collection during our Friday night show where we collected a fabulous £500 which was donated to the East London Out Project! The three main beneficiaries were:

Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those with dementia today and providing hope for the future.
There are currently 900,000 people in the UK with Dementia, with many more who are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone.
Alzheimer’s Society strive to give vital support to those who need it most, hold decision-makers to account, and fund groundbreaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.

Brain Tumour Research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment to £35 million per year, while creating a UK-wide network of 7 sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.

Mama to Mama
Based in Thanet, Kent, Mama to Mama is Thanet’s only baby bank service. With 1 in 3 children within Thanet living in poverty, and the cost of living crisis increasing demand, Mama to Mama have expanded their services to children up to 5 years old.
Their vision is to reduce financial anxieties and offer support to families in the area, mitigating the socio-economic disadvantages faced by local children.
They provide vulnerable families a variety of essentials including clothes, toys, prams, bottles and nappies, offering those they support a glimmer of hope, and showing someone cares.
2023 Charities
In 2023, we donated a total of £30,000 to the following charities:
Louie’s Research Fund
Louie’s Research Fund is a Special Named Fund at Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group, raising money for research into T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Groups dedicated funds are a fantastic opportunity to honour a child or young person affected by cancer, and to raise funds in their name. They are a positive way for families, friends and the local community to come together and make a difference. 100% of all funds raised will go towards all areas of their work such as research into a specific cancer, patient information and including their general working with and helping all children diagnosed with cancer, from support they need during treatment, recovery and help with end of life care.
Harlington Hospice
Harlington Hospice is a community hospice working throughout the London Borough of Hillingdon. They provide services for people at the end of their lives and support families with bereavement and loss. Donations to Harlington Hospice help them to fund palliative and end-of-life care provided by Harlington Hospice
