Charities
BACCES is pleased to announce the three charities we will be raising money for with our 2025 show “Dick Whittington”:

The Brompton Fountain
Supporting children’s cardiac, respiratory and intensive care at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.
The Brompton Fountain is the only charity dedicated to supporting children’s heart and lung care throughout London and the South East. They work closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary teams at Royal Brompton Hospital, and its network of partner hospitals, to provide specialist support and resources to seriously ill children and their families. They also collaborate with the NHS to plan and deliver research projects for children with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions.
Alongside their wellbeing services they also fund vital medical equipment including life-saving portable defibrillators for children with acute heart conditions who are at risk of sudden cardiac arrest.

Samson Centre
The Samson Centre is here to support anyone living with MS.
They are often asked what stage you need to be at to benefit from our services and the answer is, any stage. From people who have been recently diagnosed and are looking for reassurance to people with progressive MS symptoms, they are here for you. They believe that exercise helps people with MS to manage their symptoms, keeping them mobile and their muscles moving.
For lots of people, oxygen therapy can also help to relieve some MS symptoms. They are very fortunate to be able to offer physiotherapy, gym sessions and oxygen therapy all under one roof.

Men’s Minds Matter
Men’s Minds Matter focuses on developing psychological interventions for people in suicidal crisis.
Their model of psychological entrapment and suicidal crises underpins everything they do and has the potential to save many lives. Although they are based in Doncaster and London their model can help anyone anywhere. Their online platforms enable them to bring their intervention to the 78% of people who do not come into contact with NHS crisis services.
2024 Charities
In 2024, we donated a total of £30,500 to the following charities:
Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those with dementia today and providing hope for the future.
There are currently 900,000 people in the UK with Dementia, with many more who are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone.
Alzheimer’s Society strive to give vital support to those who need it most, hold decision-makers to account, and fund groundbreaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
Brain Tumour Research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment to £35 million per year, while creating a UK-wide network of 7 sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.

Based in Thanet, Kent, Mama to Mama is Thanet’s only baby bank service. With 1 in 3 children within Thanet living in poverty, and the cost of living crisis increasing demand, Mama to Mama have expanded their services to children up to 5 years old.
Their vision is to reduce financial anxieties and offer support to families in the area, mitigating the socio-economic disadvantages faced by local children.
They provide vulnerable families a variety of essentials including clothes, toys, prams, bottles and nappies, offering those they support a glimmer of hope, and showing someone cares.
